‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Jill Takes Colin Back – Rogue Given Another Chance

Jill (Jess Walton) will do something that logically doesn’t make sense on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She’ll give Colin (Tristan Rogers) yet another chance by forgiving him of his latest transgression. Yes, the tagged rogue will be allowed to call Jill Mrs. Atkinson indefinitely. A hand-written to-do list, penned by Katherine (Jeanne Cooper), will encourage Jill to forgive her husband.

Many viewers (and this scribe) should look squarely into their mirrors, as seeing the implied image will confirm stark truths. Haven’t countless souls offered forgiveness to some when outside detractors loudly and repeatedly argued otherwise? Yes and they’ve likely also been offered second chances themselves.

How easy it is for so many haughty personalities to urge Jill to cut Colin off forever. Billy (Jason Thompson), Esther (Kate Linder), Lily (Christel Khalil), Michael (Christian Le Blanc), Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and at times Cane (Daniel Goddard), along with others have long argued that ‘Jilin’ makes no sense.

They’ve said that Colin only wants access to Jill’s money and influence, which is partially true. But all of those self-proclaimed experts on love, Jill’s life and Colin’s existence refuse to recognize four words. Love.

Yes, Jill loves Colin. Beyond similar me-first personality traits, an undeniable spark ignited this relationship earlier this decade. Jill recognizes that Colin has character flaws, as she does herself. However, people who actually love each other don’t walk away after one second chance has been given. Instead a seemingly endless number of additional improvement opportunities are allowed and enforced.

Colin recognizes that he’s not entitled to Jill’s forgiveness. But the fact that he didn’t leave town after he emptied her digital coffers, as Neil (Kristoff St. John) wisely noted, proves that he actually loves the woman. Remaining in Genoa City, despite having then fenced Jill’s discovered engagement ring means that he has evolution potential. Mrs. Atkinson is likely the only person on earth who’s capable of leading him in that direction and ensuring he follows the right path.

Consider the six character names referenced earlier. Can any Y&R fan claim that all of those individuals should stand in judgment over Colin? This is not to say that their warnings about his actions was totally unjustified. Instead, that contingent should be asked what advice they’ll offer Jill as she tries to help Colin become a better man (again).
