Arriving in style, but evidencing a cold, Jill (Jess Walton) quickly realized that her boys needed her on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Billy (Jason Thompson) was flanked by ‘Shryllis” (Phyllis, Gina Tognoni) and Cane (Daniel Goddard) was being sued for harassment.

Billy has long been the little boy who never grew up. Vickie (Amelia Heinle) tried to take care of him for years and actually was ready to take him back earlier this year. But Billy grew tired of waiting for the ‘Ice Princess’ to smile at him and revived ‘Philly’ instead.
There are a smattering of fans, or maybe it’s a whole bunch depending upon whatever subjective soapy opinion is garnered, who, like Jill, hate the idea of Billy being with Phyllis. Some in that group (or is it many?) began their anti-‘Philly’ protest by citing the history of both characters. But ladies and gentlemen, Thompson and Tognoni aren’t Billy Miller (the best former Billy) and Michelle Stafford (who originated ‘Red’ and made her indelible in Genoa City).
Jill has come to accept the transformation of both characters. So she should also be open to Billy’s modern day mind. Though her comment to Phyllis about Billy always going back to Victoria might prove prescient.
And then there is Cane, who’s been played by the same actor since the jump (2007). He’s got himself into a real pickle. With whatever proves to be true regarding Tokyo, or if Juliet (Laur Allen) is in a family way because of him, a double legal shot lies ahead.
Jill and Colin (Tristan Rogers) need to help Cane with the Juliet issue. As to what Mr. Ashby did in Los Angeles, that’s a different matter entirely. Instead of setting Billy up Cane should have saved his bro-hug for his kind-of brother, instead of foolishly offering it to Sato-san (Richard Narita) in Japan. But Cane paid a videographer to make Billy look bad because of his own insecurities.
And that’s why Cane needs ‘Mama Bear’ more than Billy now.
