The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Jack Wants Cane To Divulge Secrets – Neil Persuades Devon To Pass

Jack (Peter Bergman) remains an opportunist on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Knowing that Cane (Daniel Goddard) was fired from Brash and Sassy, the head of Jabot Cosmetics began working on a plan. He wants to exploit Cane’s misfortune and hopefully obtain information along with a new executive.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) was asked her opinion about Cane’s potential recruitment. She was open to what he could offer the company, but wasn’t on board with Jack’s assertion that Mr. Ashby’s hire could also aid her love life.

Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and Billy (Jason Thompson) are now a two-person team. They’d been that in the past, via marriage and while other male actors were filling the Billy role. Wink. In this instance, their status as the surviving members of the company’s executive team is being referenced.

Jack’s cynical view is that Billy will lose his job if he can use Cane to bring Brash and Sassy down. Doing so would then free Billy from regular interaction with Vickie. Yes, Jack still resents what his brother did to him last year.

Since ‘Philly’ is now together, Jack’s assuming that Phyllis sees Vickie as a threat. Yes, the elder Abbott brother believes that everyone in the world is a schemer like him. Phyllis knows like like few, if any other people do. So she didn’t waste time debating his conjecture.

Meanwhile, Cane put his tail between his legs and asked Devon (Bryton James) for a job at the Hamilton-Winters corporation. Devon was bothered by the choice his brother-in-law was forcing him to make, but told Cane that he’d have to seek Neil’s (Kristoff St. James) input.

Neil ruled no. While Cane’s talents are evident and hiring him would benefit Lily (Christel Khalil) and the twins, the potential of ‘Lane’ splitting would then leave the newly formed company with an executive’s baggage.

Depending upon perception, some fans might equate Neil’s outlook with Jack’s. But St. John’s character is merely looking out for his daughter and his new business interests. In contrast, Jack only see’s himself in the mirror.
