Common knowledge might rewrite the headline of this feature about ‘The Young and the Restless’. But both declarations are arguably accurate. Jack (Peter Bergman) has the ability to fully forgive his brother and Billy (Jason Thompson) does deserve better than he’s been given.
Jack’s mistake started after one-eared Marco (Peter Bergman) was helicoptered back to a Peruvian prison. The stain Victor (Eric Braeden) stamped on Phyllis’ (Gina Tognoni) soul in that instance was unconscionable. But the ‘Dark Knight’ has no morality, which was the point Jack should have acted upon. When he refused to defend Phyllis’ honor, ‘Phack’ disintegrated. Deep in his gut, Jack knows this history review is right.
Y&R Star Jason Thompson News And Updates
It was during the time period referenced above that Billy (then played by Burgess Jenkins) and Phyllis became friendly. Y&R viewers rejected the premise based upon the then-indelible images that Billy Miller (formerly Billy) and Michelle Stafford (the original Phyllis) had marvelously projected through the characters they once played.
When attempting to removing preference, which this scribe may have been able to do over time, viewers can see that Thompson’s version of Billy is worthy of Jack’s forgiveness. Past Billy’s aren’t the point.
By the time Thompson’s edition arrived, Billy and Phyllis were organically positioned. ‘Philly’ made sense within the storyline and should certainly have become accepted in Jack’s mind by now.
The grudge that Jack holds against Victor remains raw. However, Jack has since moved on to Gloria (Judith Chapman) and now to Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott). He hasn’t evidenced any real love for Phyllis in a long time, so there’s no logical reason for him to deny her happiness. The same is true where Billy is concerned.

Jack has been so willing to offer compassion to Dina (Marla Adams), which demonstrates his ability to reconcile life-altering moments. It’s time for him to forgive his brother and move forward.
Yes, Billy deserves better. Jack knows that, but can’t let go of the past for his own selfish reasons. Time will tell if that stance damages his personal life and less importantly, Jabot.
