Hilary (Mishael Morgan) isn’t fooling anyone on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Despite that, she still might get what she wants in the end. Never truly casting Devon (Bryton James) out of her heart, while growing closer to Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) is one piece of the fluid plan.

Jordan has been written as a generally decent guy. He’s not out to hurt anyone, like his current love interest often does. But Hilary has a great look and is sassy, which appeals to Mr. Wilde (and to most guys).

Sorry ladies, you’re not off the hook just because the last paragraph ended. Equality is reconfirmed through the theory that many females are drawn to the male version of Hilary within their own minds. Dispute that proposed (if not certain) fact if one will.

At the same time Jordan is surely fond of Lily. He cares, too much. Considering ‘Lane’s’ shaky situation, fans are wondering when, not if Jordan and Lily will try romance?

Devon isn’t over Hilary, but he has moved on to Mariah (Camryn Grimes). Miss Copeland doesn’t consume Mr. Hamilton’s being yet. They’re just getting to know each other, after starting as friends.

Why Mariah chooses to continue working for Hilary is beyond this author’s grasp. It’s one point in the overriding ‘Hevon’, now ‘Mevon’ or ‘Deviah’ arc that doesn’t make sense.

Devon insisted in a Mariah protection clause in the divorce settlement that saw Hilary receive full control of GC Buzz. But Mariah is smart and could easily ask Devon for a job at the newly-formed Hamilton-Winters corporation. Doing so would obviously cut repeated interactions between Devon and Hilary.

But this is soap. So Y&R has written contrived conflict into the broadcast equation by having Mariah, Devon and Hilary intermingle with each other, which enables the potential of ‘Hevon’s’ revival. Actually, that’s not so bad after all. As James and Morgan are collaboratively outstanding.
