The Young and the Restless (YR) Spoilers: Hilary May Lose GC Buzz – Backlash Against Host Untenable

Hilary (Mishael Morgan) always knew exactly what she was doing on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Using GC Buzz to portray people badly allowed her to gain fame and earn money. But now she’s the target of scandal and her advertisers are abandoning her.

Devon (Bryton James) told his then-wife that she should use her talent to promote goodness through the media outlet he had purchased as a vehicle to showcase her talent. She rejected his repeated suggestions and, after gaining the website and connected television show in ‘Hevon’s’ divorce settlement, continued to bash and bash and bash and bash anyone for any reason, twenty-four-seven.

A recent misguided decision has put the future of GC Buzz in question. It wasn’t one that related to Hilary’s business, but instead was of a very personal nature.

The photos Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) took of this then-girlfriend were believed to be private. However, Hilary forced the classification of those pics to change when she stole some Mr. Wilde’s secret personal possessions, which included fake ID’s from his scammer days with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan).

Jordan was blindsided and understandably upset. He opted to retaliate by presenting copies of the images he captured and retained, unbeknownst to Hilary, to the world via the internet.

Hilary has since been abandoned by scores of advertisers who don’t want their products to be associated with this particular type of scandal. Those business were apparently okay with all that Hilary proffered to the public prior to her photos being revealed, which of course reveals those decision-makers as hypocrites.

At this point Hilary is trying to hang on in hopes of surviving the chaos she spurned by attacking Jordan. To be clear, both she and her vengeful ex-boyfriend were both wrong to expose the other. However, Jordan didn’t initiate this battle and showed no signs of wanted to fight until after Hilary provoked him.

Whether the host of the ‘Hilary Hour’ can keep her business going, or transform it into a force for good, as Devon suggested long ago, remains to be seen. But she has become a genuine victim and hopefully will learn from the actions she took against many other people before this unfortunate and unnecessary situation played out.
