Hilary (Mishael Morgan) did offer a since apology to Mariah (Camryn Grimes) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Clearly, Devon’s (Bryton James) car crash and initially life-threatening injuries deeply affected both ladies. With that crisis having passed, viewers are wondering whether these two strong personalities will be able to maintain a working relationship after Devon questions his wife about what really happened on New Year’s Eve?
There are moments, actually brief bursts, where Hilary appears to be maturing. Only her most ardent detractors would refuse to acknowledge that this character has progressed since first arriving in Genoa City. Compassionate fans have always recognized that Hilary had a hard life growing up and naturally carries those emotional scars with her to what she sees as a daily battlefield.

Hilary and Mariah had a genuine one-on-one conversation at GC Buzz’ studios. Then, they returned to work. But Devon’s unexpected arrival allowed Mariah to talk with her friend and boss. Based upon what Hilary implied, Mariah believed that ‘Hevon’ hashed out all the elements that led to Devon’s serious injuries. Her relay of that information establishes the next conflict.
Hilary will surely believe that Mariah wanted to sabotage her as soon as she learns who filled in Devon about the events that took place during the early morning hours on January 1, 2017. All of this will occur just after ‘Hevon’ decided, or at least Devon suggested, that a baby was soon in order.

Strong marriages can survive various problems that develop through the years. Unexpected incidents that nearly change everything are often seen as omens, intended to remind such couples of how fortunate they are to have each other. A sappy conclusion to outside observers, but serious to whatever duo believes they’re joined forever.
There’s no doubt that Hilary and Devon love each other, but has their relationship grown since first blush? That reasonable question is about to be answered within the few weeks on Y&R. The answer will also likely be held and then fully played out during Nielsen’s February Sweeps month.
