The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Graham’s Backstory Mystery Deepens – Ashley Continues Digging

So now it appears as though Graham (Max Shippee) might not be Dina’s (Marla Adams) child on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Of course mixed messages continue to be projected to the viewers as Ashley (Eileen Davidson) keeps digging for answers. Yes, that’s what’s fueling this soap opera plot line.

Initially it seemed as though Graham was purely Dina’s employee. Then he was portrayed as her romantic companion, a gold-digger or even Dina’s child. In actuality Graham could be any of the things the Abbott family suspects him of, a combination of those nefarious buffet items or maybe he’s just an honest soul.

Dina’s seemingly jealous reaction to seeing Ashley place her hand on top of Graham’s in the Genoa City Athletic Club dining room indicates something. Dina doesn’t want his attention to be focused anywhere else. However, she might simply be concerned that he’ll leave her side. That impulse response would be natural if she has a developing health condition.

Forgetfulness is a sign of advancing age. However, it doesn’t always mean that an Alzheimer’s diagnosis is imminent, or that the disease has already taken hold.

Prior to returning to her original home, Dina seems to have believed that Graham was the only person who she could depend on in the world. Estranged from her three known children for decades created consequences of perception, which appears to have partially driven Dina’s reason for returning.

Yes, the sale of Mergeron was a key to Dina’s grand reappearance. However, there’s no question that she equally wanted to reestablish ties with Ashley, Jack (Peter Bergman) and Traci (Beth Maitland). Dina also hoped to form a relationship with Abby (Melissa Ordway), which has happened.

As the summer plays out viewers are likely to be fed tidbits from Graham’s past. Whether he proves to have any lasting connection to Dina will be intriguing.

Sibling, strict business adviser, manipulator or Ashley’s future husband? There’s not enough available information to know the answer all of these possibilities. And that’s just another reason why Y&R is an enduring soap.
