The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Gloria Makes Herself Invaluable – Jack Remains Her Target

Gloria’s (Judith Chapman) game continues to evolve on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She returned to Genoa City because Jeffrey (Ted Shackelford) supposedly wronged her. Whether that’s true or a ruse hasn’t been confirmed. However, Jack clearly remains ‘Glo’s’ target of some sort.

John Abbott Senior (Jerry Douglas) genuinely was the love of Gloria’s life. Tenured viewers will recall that she married him twice, but each marriage was subsequently ruled invalid. John, Junior used the law to make that happen, which meant that Gloria receive zero percent of John’s assets. Nothing, nada, zilch.

Being burned isn’t something that Gloria planned to live with forever. So she left town a number of years ago, bided her time and returned to Wisconsin before Christmas. Gloria actually arrived in a box that was delivered to ‘Likey’s’ apartment. Michael (Christian Le Blanc) and Lauren (Tracey Bregman) weren’t thrilled with her unexpected and unwanted arrival.

Soon Gloria reconnected with Jack. She oddly offered to help him take over Lauren’s family business. Jack’s no dummy and he was cautious with Gloria, at first. While his plan didn’t result in gaining majority control of Fenmore’s, Jabot became a significant partner in that retail business and the resulting synergy between both companies is working well.

However, Jack nipped at the nectar too much one night at the Top of the Tower, of all places. By the next morning ‘Glack’ stunningly became arguably the most unexpected couple in Y&R’s recent history.

So, has Gloria been plotting this path all along? Does Jack have some hidden scheme up his sleeve while slyly playing naive? And haven’t these equally twisted minds of both characters revealed that they are more alike then not?

Whatever plays out in this arc, Gloria is proving herself to be a valuable member of the Jabot team. She blackmailed Jack into giving her a secretarial position, but continues to make the most of that modest slot. Mr. Abbott has taken plenty of incoming from everyone including his sister Ashley (Eileen Davidson) about his obviously pressured decision where his two-time ex-mother-in-law is concerned. This last point looms as the largest one.

‘Ash’ is planning to overthrow her brother. And who might stand as Jack’s sole ally when that happens? Oh yes, it’s ‘Glo’.
