Last year Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) rocked Genoa City with their explosive affair, which was revealed while Phyllis was struggling in her marriage to Billy’s brother, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and devastated the entire Abbott family.

Jason Thompson and Gina Tognoni paid a visit to “Global Morning News” in Calgary where the duo spoke about their warm reception from Canadian fans at a local event this past weekend. Gina also commented on how both actors seriously took on the task of being a major character recast and making the iconic roles their own.
Best of all, they teased that Billy and Phyllis would “reunite” coming up on the April 17th episode of the ‘The Young and the Restless.’ Philly fans were dealt a blow when 80’s writing veteran Sallly Sussman rejoined the team as head writer and revealed that she found Billy and Phyllis “unlikable” as a couple in a TV Insider interview back in November of last year.

As a result, the pair hasn’t been romantically involved in several months, after Phyllis boldly declared that she was never really in love with Billy, but simply using their affair as a coping mechanism. Fans found that pretty hard to swallow given the couple’s intense chemistry together, and their sudden breakup left many feeling cheated out of a new steamy relationship that had yet to be explored. Philly fans can only keep their fingers crossed that this will be a long lived romantic reunion for Billy and Phyllis and tune in on April 17th to see all of the drama unfold.
