The Young and the Restless Spoilers Friday July 28: Nick Suspicious of Tessa – Jesse Makes Billy an Offer – Charlie and Reed Clash

“The Young and the Restless” spoilers for Friday, July 28, tease that Cane (Daniel Goddard) will share some bad news with Mattie (Lexie Stevenson). At home, Cane states that Victoria (Amelia Heinle) cost him a shot at another job. He feels like she’s just as cruel as Victor (Eric Braeden).

Later, Mattie answers the door and Jesse is standing there. Cane acts like Jesse is a pal so Mattie won’t get suspicious. Once the teen’s gone, Jesse reminds Cane of his power. He wants his money, but Cane doesn’t have it yet. Jesse extends the deadline to later that evening. After Jesse heads out, Cane sighs while looking over Mattie and Charlie’s (Noah Alexander Gerry) college fund info.

Lily (Christel Khalil) comes home feeling blue about the commercial. Her agent hasn’t reached out. Cane offers reassurance when Lily worries about their lack of savings. He quickly closes his laptop as he leans in for a hug.

At the athletic club, Devon (Bryton James) and Neil (Kristoff St. John) check out the new office space they set up. They spot their logo and a fruit basket that Dina (Marla Adams) sent over. Neil wonders if Devon has any lingering feelings for Hilary, but Devon claims he just wants to keep the peace. They debate how Mariah (Camryn Grimes) feels about his view of Hilary.

Mattie arrives later to begin an internship, but Neil notes she’s got the skills to do much more. Meanwhile, Billy (Jason Thompson) updates Reed (Tristan Lake Leabu) on Victoria’s (Amelia Heinle) medical scare. He contends that she needs to take it easy.

Reed is glad that his mom still has someone like Billy in her life. It’s clear that Billy worries about her. Reed mentions how complicated his romance is. When Charlie runs into Reed later, they have a heated faceoff. Charlie urges Reed to break up with Mattie if he cares about her at all.

Once Mattie shows up, Reed fills her in on his conversation with Charlie. Mattie admits that Victoria sabotaged Cane’s attempt to get another job. Reed isn’t sure he buys that, but he tries to shift gears. Unfortunately, Mattie doesn’t feel like going to The Underground with him.

At Crimson Lights, Sharon (Sharon Case) learns Nick (Joshua Morrow) has expansion plans. He reveals his partnership with Noah (Robert Adamson) and their goal of getting into some college towns. Sharon suspects that Nick’s fight with Victor is the reason for his sudden ambition. Nick admits that he’s decided to go big or go home.

When Tessa’s (Cait Fairbanks) name comes up, Sharon hints that she seems like an OK gal. Nick fears that trouble could be brewing. Afterward, Sharon meets up with Paul (Doug Davidson). She’s hopeful that Crystal (Morgan Obenreder), the girl stuck in the sex ring, will call back. Paul wants Sharon to get Crystal’s location if she can.

At the TV studio, Mariah mulls over the tender moment she shared with Tessa (Cait Fairbanks). Tessa snaps her out of it when she walks in. She confesses that she’s never been on a plane before, but Mariah insists it’ll be great. They chat about the qualities they admire in each other, but things get a little uncomfortable.

At The Underground, Nick and Noah talk about getting the funding for their project. When Nick brings up his doubts about Tessa, Noah is offended. He wants his dad to trust his judgment, especially since they’re going into business together. Mariah and Tessa interrupt their conversation shortly before Devon arrives. Noah joins them and they head to the concert on Devon’s private jet.

Back at the coffeehouse, Billy seeks answers from Jesse. After checking his bank account, Jesse suggests he’ll tell Billy what he wants to know for a price. It looks like a bomb will drop next week.
