Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Jill (Jess Walton) came to the same realization on ‘The Young and the Restless’. There’s no way that Jack (Peter Bergman) would hire Gloria (Judith Chapman) to be his secretary unless something else was in play. Yes, cracks can be seen in Mr. Abbott’s glass house.
Jack was rightfully enraged after he learned that ‘Philly’ had been cavorting behind his back for months. His bitterness was understandable, but then he appeared to move forward. At least that’s what he presented to the world as he began to construct his glass house in this fictional Wisconsin town.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) was the first to catch on to her ex-husband’s deception. She confronted him and Gloria at the Genoa City Athletic Club after seeing them together. Jack instantly played off ‘Glo’ as his new girlfriend. Outrageous!
Ashley (Eileen Davidson) couldn’t believe that her brother was working with Gloria in his attempt to takeover Fenmore’s, hostilely. Jack brushed ‘Ash’ off, confidently believing that he was using his father’s two-time ex-wife as a mole and a dupe. Then, after that business deal didn’t flow as hoped, Jack foolishly believed that Gloria would go away after he refused to give her a job at the revived company.

Lauren (Tracey Bregman) and Phyllis couldn’t believe that Gloria was working for Jack when they found her outside of his office recently. While the maintained majority ruler of Fenmore’s and her right-hand woman laughed at him, Jack seethed inside.
Michael had to see it for himself. So he sat waiting across from Gloria’s desk until she arrived. Then he asked his mother what she was holding over Jack’s head. Jill also questioned Gloria on the same day before she entered Jack’s office, after which she lit into the man she was about to pitch.
Jack has long been his own worst enemy. He leaps before he looks, falls down and starts leaping again. Some boys (Jack) will never learn. Of course some girls (Gloria) won’t either. That serves to prove equality in a way that some people don’t like to think about, or admit.
