The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Dina Can Be Given a Chance At Jabot – Jack Should Remind Ashley About Progress

Dina (Marla Adams) has a lot to offer on ‘The Young and the Restless’. While their mother isn’t and won’t be the easiest personality to work with, Jack’s (Peter Bergman) idea about giving Dina some type of role at Jabot makes sense. While Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) initial instincts about Madame Mergeron weren’t on the mark, a reassessment has proven to be worthwhile and genuine.

Ashley is the one who appears to have correctly diagnosed Dina’s condition as depression, instead of dementia. Good-hearted viewers are hoping that proves true. If so it could prove worthwhile to tap Dina’s wealth of business experience.

Choosing to sell Mergeron Enterprises surely wasn’t an easy choice. Adams’ is about to turn 79 in real life. The veteran actor was born on August 28, 1938, in Ocean City, New Jersey.

Jack’s and Ashley’s biological mother is in Adams’ age range. While Dina is wealthy, she’s no longer fulfilled. Lacking the ability to offer normal motherly love, she abandoned her family responsibilities ages ago and took refuge in the world of business. Her success in that field, the door to which was opened by her marriage to Monsieur Mergeron, cemented a rift with her children. But those days are gone.

At this point in her life Dina is trying to make amends. She is sincere about that, which is why she could be offered some type of short-term consulting project. If all went well and everyone was in agreement, her role at Jabot could be extended.

It was understandable that Ashley had deep reservations about Dina, as that woman lied to her about the paternity of her father. But Ashley has evolved since then and is back to tapping her normal instincts where others are concerned, which now includes her mother. Jack should reinforce that point with his sister and present the temporary proposal that’s been suggested.

Who knows, Dina may prove to be a greater asset than expected. As Jack implied, the founder of Jabot likely wouldn’t object to giving her a chance. Maybe John’s (Jerry Douglas) ghost will appear to reinforce Jack’s belief as well.
