‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Devon Faces A New Dilemma – Hevon or Jilary?

Devon (Bryton James) believed he held the upper hand on ‘The Young and the Restless’. And, for the most part that’s still true. But if he allows Mrs. Hamilton to pull his emotional chain (yet again), ‘Jilary’ might just render ‘Hevon’ moot.

There might be some viewers who’ve been connected to manipulators during their lives, or have played that role themselves. But this scribe digresses in order to further the plot of this paragraph (wink).

By her own admissions, Hilary (Mishael Morgan) is a manipulator. Devon is an honest person, save for the incident where he stole Neil’s (Kristoff St. John) claimed love.

Just a few short months ago Devon decided that the New Year’s Eve, actually early New Year’s Day, accident he was involved in was enough.

After his memory cleared, Devon decided to divorce Hilary and subsequently gave her a check for $250 million. She surprisingly rejected that coin drop, but also refused to sign a legal document that would have prevented her from ever seeking a money-grab in the future.

Some time passed and ‘Hevon’ appeared to be at a standoff. Devon would divorce Hilary, but only if she signed the binding agreement. Hilary wanted Devon to sign divorce papers, but refused to fully explain why she wouldn’t throw her legal rights. Then Jordan (Darnell Kirkwood) arrived.

Devon recently kissed his wife and admitted that he’d realized what life would be like without her. Since Jordan literally just arrived in Genoa City, Hilary certainly hasn’t switched her love to Mr. Wilde. But this unplanned development has created a new factor for Devon and Hilary to consider.

The Brash and Sassy photographer made an instant impression on the ladies, but wasn’t a jerk. He is actually a nice guy, which has been confirmed by him requesting to ask Hilary out on a date. That unexpected question puts Devon in a tough spot. Why tell Jordan he can’t do so if Mrs. Hamilton is no longer of interest?
