The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Chloe Reappears – Victor Confronts Criminal

No, Elizabeth Hendrickson (Chloe) hasn’t taken her final bow on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Tenured viewers noticed that a recapped scene sequence was played prior to this character’s departure from Genoa City a few weeks ago. But that package and subsequent images of Chloe appearing aside of two letters she’d written proved to be an audience head fake.

Victor (Eric Braeden) was never going to let his son’s perceived killer use him to escape from town without reprisal. The ‘Moustache’ often finds a way to make the impossible happen. That fictional reality again proved true as Chloe came to realize.

Mr. Newman is walking in different territory than he has in the past, with Chloe having outmaneuvered him a number of times.

Last summer she betrayed Victor by choosing to withhold evidence that would have allowed Adam (Justin Hartley) to be cleared of murder.

As viewers recall, Victor orchestrated Chloe’s release from a mental health facility in California so she could help him frame Adam. Miss Mitchell’s choice to stymie Victor didn’t meet full reprisal at that time because he was fearful of being exposed.

That main issue hasn’t changed at this point, despite Chloe’s precarious legal status. Victor is still trying to find a way to apply his form of justice to Chloe while not triggering her release of damning information to the authorities in his regard.

Y&R established an interesting foe for Victor through this extended storyline. Rarely has anyone held the ‘Great Man’ at bay as Chloe has. The idea that this clever lady also manipulated Victor into helping her escape on his Newman jet was a gut punch to Victor fans everywhere.

There’s no doubt that the guilt Victor’s continued to feel for his involvement in a series of events that appeared to cause Adam’s death has influenced his thought process. Last year his thirst for vengeance led him to join forces with a woman who hated Adam. Similarly reckless thoughts are still driving Victor’s actions now.
