Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) killed Adam (Justin Hartley) on ‘The Young and the Restless’? Well, that character might think she did. But foreshadowed physical evidence recently allowed sharp viewers to know that Chloe was the person who put Adam’s wedding ring in a dresser last September, immediately after he was believed to have died.
Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) was in Chloe’s old bedroom, looking for sewing materials to repair a torn hem. She opened a top dresser drawer, pulled out the same pair of black leather gloves that Chloe recently took off when she showed Chelsea her engagement ring. Then she found something that caused her emotions to explode, Adam’s wedding ring!

The dresser was located in the Chancellor mansion because a here-to-fore unknown person was wearing black leather gloves last September. At that time the mystery character put the wedding ring into the same dresser drawer.
Esther (Kate Linder) worked for Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) for decades. Along the way she had a daughter, named in honor of Mrs. C. However, upon this character’s adult transformation (as embodied by Hendrickson), her first name was changed. Chloe was the self-applied moniker.
Skip ahead to the fall of last year. Chloe tracked Adam to the cabin and shot him with a tranquiler gun. According to Nick (Joshua Morrow), the substance used in the dart was strong enough to bring down an animal. With Adam rendered unconscious, Chloe apparently intentionally ruptured the propane line in order to incinerate her diabolical nemesis.

Chloe thought she had everyone fooled. A long list of dupes included her mother, best friend and intended third-time husband. Esther was overjoyed to have her baby back in town and apparently healthy. Chelsea needed time before she came to fully trust Chloe again. Kevin never stopped loving this woman and remained blind to reality.
Nick has been leading an investigation into the events surrounding Adam’s potential demise. The term potential is apt because open-ended outcomes have been intentionally written into this arc in order to create the possibility that this infamous member of the Newman clan can return to life (again) someday. But for now viewers must settle for being provided with some evidence and information surrounding the events that dramatically played out late last summer.
