The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Chelsea Is In Danger – Christian Paternity Secret is Victor’s Weapon

Chelsea’s (Melissa Claire Egan) choice changes the Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) equation on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Now that she and Nick (Joshua Morrow) have integrated their families, the risk of the paternity secret being revealed has increased dramatically.

As a memory refresher, or a recap for newer fans: The boy who Nick believes to be his son with Sage (Kelly Sullivan) is apparently Adam’s (Justin Hartley) child. ‘Chadam’ and Victor (Eric Braeden) decided to withhold that fact from Nick for legitimately compassionate reasons. Sage had passed away and they didn’t want to add to his burden. The gamble was that Nick would never learn the truth.

However, Chelsea had to unexpectedly reconsider her part in that decision when Adam is believed to have died last September. Victor’s counsel reaffirmed ‘Chadam’s’ choice. But Chelsea was left in a tenuous position. She was deepening her then burgeoning relationship with Nick, knowing all the while that the Christian secret is something that he deserved to be told.

Sage is likely deceased, meaning that she’s a non-factor. As for Adam, well he’s probably recovering somewhere from the injuries he suffered in Chloe’s (Elizabeth Hendrickson) cabin explosion. The Christian matter will be fully revisited when, not if Adam is resurrected. That leap of faith statement was made because this is soap.

In the months that have led viewers to this point Victor has also gone off the rails. He’s bent on teaching Nick increasingly harsh, comprehensive lessons, having disavowed him as his son. That obviously puts the Christian secret on the table as a weapon.

Chelsea surely knows that Victor’s attitude threatens the deepened relationship she’s formed with Nick. Morrow’s character seems bound to recognize traits of similarity between the brothers, who aren’t cousins as well.

Now that ‘Chick’ is under one roof, developing opportunities for information slips have increased exponentially. And what if Chelsea talks in her sleep or a health crisis somehow proves that Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) and Christian are brothers?
