The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Chelsea Holds Leverage – Christian Paternity Issue Vexing

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) knows that Christian (Jude and Ozzy McGuigen) is Adam’s (Justin Hartley) child on ‘The Young and the Restless’. As soon as she learns that Victor’s (Eric Braeden) actions were directly tied to her husband’s death, she’ll have a different choice to make. Rather than simply choosing to protect Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) feelings, she might opt to take custody of her tie to Adam.

Could Chelsea successfully win a custody battle if she believed that Victor might try to take Christian away from Nick? That’s clearly an issue that Chris (Lauralee Bell), Michael (Christian Le Blanc), Leslie (Angell Conwell) or some combination of this trio will become involved in if a future legal war erupts. And Victor’s most recent crimes could potentially impact that outcome.

Victor and Chelsea could accurately claim that the other party withheld information about Christian’s paternity from Nick. Victor is the boy’s biological grandfather in either case, while Chelsea is purely Adam’s widow. Would that hurt her chances against the ‘Moustache’ in this instance?

Interestingly, Adam conducted a DNA test. He felt that proved he was Christian’s father. The validity of that soapy science remains ripe for chance. He opted to retain that secret, in part because his son was initially thought to have died. Adam’s death and Christian’s revert later remixed this issue.

Chelsea seems unlikely to blurt out what she knows. But Victor might engineer the reveal to exact revenge against Nick for making Faith (Alyvia Alyn Lind) leave the Main house.

If the ‘Moustache’ goes to battle Chelsea will feel compelled to tell Nick what she knows. He’ll surely feel betrayed, but still would likely side with Chelsea over his father if any custody issues come to pass.

If pressed, Nick wouldn’t withhold the role his father’s actions played in Adam’s death. That alone could put Christian in Chelsea’s hands. Although it’s possible that this Newman heir might land in Wisconsin’s Social Services system as well.
