‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Chelsea Gives Love A Chance – Moves Past Adam Newman

Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) decided to give love a chance on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Nick (Joshua Morrow) previously advised that he’d made peace with Sage’s (Kelly Sullivan) death and was ready for a new relationship. Believing that Adam (Justin Hartley) would want the best for her and Connor (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois), Chelsea is ready to move forward with her life in Genoa City.

An interesting crossroad’s scene was presented recently. Crimson Lights was the setting. Chelsea, Nick and Sharon (Sharon Case) were the protagonists.

After sitting with the probable ‘Chick’ at their table in the restaurant that ‘Shick’ once owned in its glory days, Sharon advised that she was ready to continue life without Dylan (Steve Burton). No more tears, or regrets. Appreciate what was and be open to whatever comes next.

Sharon’s soul-spill didn’t include a referenced romantic decision, as there are none to make yet. However, it did help to reaffirm what Chelsea had been weighing in her mind for awhile.

She is attracted to Nick and has appeared interested in involvement for months. But what about the paternity issue?

Connected to romantic considerations and family-connected matters is the lingering issue of Christian’s paternity. This boy is believed to be Adam’s son, though Nick doesn’t know that. Chelsea has been conflicted about whether to tell him, or if not, to begin a relationship without having done so.

Sharon’s feelings and Nick’s response also confirmed that Chelsea is in the clear, as ‘Shick’ is clearly ancient history. Yes, Sharon and Nick have reached a point of seeming mutual respect. But Mrs. Adam Newman needn’t worry that Nick will head back to his one-time wife now, or in the near future.

Chelsea’s conundrum is classic soap. A complex conflict that’s not easily resolved. Viewers are right to believe that her paternity secret will force ‘Chick’ down eventually, but for now it’s ready to take off. So they’ll watch and possibly enjoy the flight, depending upon one’s perspective, while it lasts.
