Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan) is facing something that many people have before on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Betrayal by a best friend. Naturally, Chelsea is resisting the conclusion that Chloe (Elizabeth Hendrickson) conned her once again. Recognizing that reality would be devastating, dealing with it likely impossible.

Feeling duped by anyone isn’t great. But when that’s done by someone who’s trusted and yes, loved, well what could be worse? Learning that a revived ally might have destroyed one’s family forever answers that cogent question.
Adam’s (Justin Hartley) return from the grave was incredible. How many people can say that they’ve lost their heart and found it again? Chelsea could, until her husband was apparently killed in an explosion at a cabin on the outskirts of Genoa City. But it seemed like an unfortunate accident, at least that’s what Paul (Doug Davidson) and Dylan (Steve Burton) concluded based upon existing evidence.
The circumstances that forced Adam into that ill-fated cabin were mind-boggling. Framed for the murder of Constance Bingham (Sally Kellerman) by Chloe, who was aided by Victor (Eric Braeden) from the jump. Yes, the actions of Adam’s own father resulted in him going to jail and by extension, him later dying.
Mrs. Newman recently took off her wedding ring and embraced a relationship with Nick (Joshua Morrow), who is Adam’s brother. Okay, that’s soap, but let’s push forward.
Nick discovered a tracking device in Connor’s (Gunner and Ryder Gadbois) favorite toy. He told Chelsea, who questioned Chloe. Her initial denial was followed by a half-baked admission.

Adam’s nemesis claimed she purely wanted to warn ‘Chadam’ if the police were on to their escape plan at that time. Nick didn’t take her answer at face value and took Newman-esque measures to have Chloe’s phone pinged. He learned that Chloe was within the proximity of the cabin just before it burst.
Flashbacks and common sense are eating at Chelsea’s hope. Is Chloe a liar and more importantly, Adam’s executioner? If true, and viewers know that at least one-half of the last statement is, Chadam didn’t sadly end. Instead it was purposely destroyed by Chelsea’s best friend.
