The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Cane Sabotaged Himself – Career and Family Irreparably Broken

Cane (Daniel Goddard) put himself in two terrible positions on ‘The Young and the Restless’. He betrayed his family’s trust along with that of his employer. That linked mistake most recently resulted in Mattie (Lexie Stevenson) disrespecting him. No easy, or potentially longterm solution exists for Cane and those he loves.

Yes, it is possible that Cane may never recover. All hope that he has merely represents conviction to try and repair the damage that’s been caused. But the Ashby family may be broken forever and, less importantly, Cane’s career as a prominent executive could be indefinitely road-blocked.

An interesting flashback scene showed Lily (Christel Khalil) and Cane in their early days. Savvy soap fans wonder if that signaled the impending end of ‘Lane’, or the removal of either character? In either regard, or neither, the visuals prodded fans of this formerly loving couple, which forced them to realize that good times must always be appreciated.

Like Lily, Cane supporters were willing to be supportive about what happened in Tokyo. He truly didn’t intend to hurt his wife, or children. That apparently misguided scenario happened and Cane was dealing with it as best he could.

However, subsequently slew-footing Billy (Jason Thompson) in Los Angeles during the DARE campaign, while also paying a videographer who later blackmailed him devastated Cane’s credibility. The revealed results forced Lily and some viewers to also rethink his interaction with Juliet (Laur Allen).

Did that decision reflect some type of subconscious desire? Cane’s actions in California created that question, where it would have otherwise never credibly existed.

So Mattie is feeling put upon because of her dad’s problems and Charlie (Noah Alexander Gerry) won’t remain Cane’s only son for long, as Juliet’s baby is a boy. Meanwhile, Lily appears to be moving toward a conclusion where her husband is concerned.

Yes, Cane is living through dark days and no daylight is in sight. Free will allows everyone to make choices, as we aren’t soulless robots.
