The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Cane Gains Temporary Leverage – Philly Discovered

Cane (Daniel Goddard) unexpectedly gained leverage over Billy (Jason Thompson) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Overhearing ‘Philly’s’ conversation in the Top of the Tower coat room gives one of Brash and Sassy’s players a professional and personal weapon that he can use against his nemesis. However, Cane’s newfound power is only temporary.

Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) and Billy recently got back together. They’ve been wanting to tell their former significant others and the rest of Genoa City about their revived relationship. But a variety of circumstances and expected stretched soapy scripts have delayed that information from being relayed to all affected parties.

So Vickie (Amelia Heinle) threw a spur-of-the-moment dinner to celebrate the recent success of her Brash and Sassy team. However, a chippy night ensued as numerous guests sniped at each other. Among the verbal missals that were shot included Cane and Billy continuing their ongoing rivalry.

As the even was winding down, Cane was asked by Lily (Christel Khalil) to retrieve her jacket from the coat room. He dutifully obliged. It was at that point that Cane heard Billy and Phyllis talking behind a closed curtain.

Was it rather old-fashioned that this strong person (Lily) couldn’t get the garment herself? That’s the type of emotional knee-jerk response modern mouths often offer (unsolicited) when similar situations are played out. Then again, maybe people who actually care about each other aren’t being sexist when help is requested or given. Yes, rational minds do accept that common sense premise.

Cane loves his wife, but made a moral mistake in Tokyo with Juliet (Laur Allen). His conscience has been telling him ever since that he needs to tell Lily the truth. Again, reason affirms that all of life isn’t some gray area to stomp across.

With whatever upper hand Cane thinks he’s gained, Billy and Phyllis are both single. Yes, there might be repercussions for Billy when Vickie learns that her ex-husband has committed to Phyllis. But that doesn’t compare to what will happen when Lily inevitably learns, or is told that Cane and Juliet were together and that Cane has since chosen to withhold the truth.
