The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Cane and Juliet Positioned to Lose – Lies To Be Exposed But Lawsuit Weak

Cane (Daniel Goddard) continues to dig deeper holes for himself on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Most importantly, he’s lying to Lily (Christel Khalil) about what happened in Tokyo, Japan. Of lesser importance is Juliet’s (Laur Allen) weak claim, which should eventually result in a victory for Brash and Sassy.

Upcoming proceedings are sure to play like a, uh, soap opera. There are clearly subjective points to be made if this case goes to court. Juliet has chosen to believe she was fired because of what happened with Cane after a night of too many sake bombs.

Developing events means that Juliet’s and Cane’s interpretation of events will likely push emotionally charged recollections over the logic of what actually happened. Juliet recently said that Cane actually seemed to be supporting her, so that will weaken her claims. As for Cane, his deceitful ways have already ensnared him in a time trap.

Within the course of one episode, when asked Cane told Vickie (Amelia Heinle), Lily and Michael (Christian LeBlanc) that nothing happened after a night of drinking in Tokyo. However, Juliet gained personal information that she can relay, when asked, that will prove Cane to be a liar. By that point his credibility will be damaged with his boss, wife and lawyer.

Vickie will have cause to fire Cane. Lily will have cause to at least re-think their marriage, take a time out from that relationship or seek legal advice. Michael won’t be able to rely on his client’s key witness.

Juliet allowed herself to be manipulated by Hilary (Mishael Morgan) into filing this lawsuit. But Juliet is an adult, isn’t mindless and has free will. So it’s possible, if not likely that her testimony will take Brash and Sassy off the hook. But her words will also reaffirm that Cane has gone far off the rails.

The terrible personal and professional positions Cane put himself into and has forced others to become a part of haven’t resulted because of what happened between he and Juliet in Tokyo. The relentless cover-up strategy Cane has followed ever since created this mess.
