Assuming that Juliet’s (Laur Allen) baby isn’t Cane’s (Daniel Goddard) is just a guess at this point on ‘The Young and the Restless’. So while choosing to believe that the declarative statement in the headline may eventually prove correct, that approach only serves as a responsibility dodge right now. Cane is believed to be the dad and therefore he and Juliet must do what’s right.
This non-couple isn’t in a good place. How could it be? And yes, regardless of status any woman who is pregnant with a man’s child is part of a couple, regardless of whatever overly emotional logic is applied.
So Cane can whine all he likes. Juliet can sit in the awkward position she created by filing a false harassment suit. But these adults have a responsibility that’s infinitely more important than their wounded egos.
Neither side, nor ‘Lane’ fans might want to admit the truth either. Juliet thinks Cane is attractive, just as Cane thinks Juliet is appealing. That’s right, it wasn’t the sake that drew them together after the now infamous business meeting in Tokyo, Japan, with Mr. Sato (Richard Narita). They have chemistry.

Juliet is due in approximately five months, which means that a Christmas or New Year’s Eve-ish baby is on the way. That gives this duo plenty of time to strike a balance, call a truce, or reach whatever phrased accord they want.
Who knows, eventually ‘Jane’ or ‘Culiet’, if one prefers to balance the mashed name gender scales, could actually be together. Lily’s (Christel Khalil) feelings aren’t about to subside anytime soon and Juliet seems to have no other male options.
While he hasn’t treated his family well during the past four-plus months, Cane has been a good father to the twins; both the longtime pair and the more recent SORAS’d version. So Juliet is likely to receive support along with the girl, or boy she delivers.
It will then be Cane’s responsibility to help Juliet raise their child, as he has plenty of parental experience that can be shared. And again, this situation isn’t about what might, could or should happen if the baby proves to not be his child. That remains pure speculation, for now.
