‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Cane Allows Billy to Get Under His Skin – Far Too Brash and Sassy

Cane (Daniel Goddard) should look inside himself on ‘The Young and the Restless’. There have been many instances where Billy (Jason Thompson) has been the source of trouble in various people’s lives, but this isn’t one of them. Lily’s (Christel Khalil) resurrected modeling career is what she wants and her decision has nothing to do with Mr. Abbott, or his intentions.

Mr. Ashby’s insecurities are showing and that surely isn’t fashionable. Jealous? Not exactly. Instead, he’s actually been behaving like someone who’s already been mentioned in this feature. Yes, Lily.

A segment of the viewing audience rightfully tagged Lily as saying too much where ‘Hevon’ was concerned during the past few years. It wasn’t that her observations and desire to protect her adopted brother (and earlier, her father) were wrong. More recently, she was sticking her nose into Devon’s (Bryton James) personal business far too often rather than focusing attention where it mostly belonged, on her children and husband.

Cane’s response to Lily becoming the face of Brash and Sassy’s multi-platform advertising campaign was revealing. Jill (Jess Walton) thought of her daughter-in-law as the perfect person to fill in when a booked model had flight issues. Billy subsequently saw that Lily performed well and pushed the issue of having her become a contracted player.

‘Lane’s’ various relationship issues have been settled for awhile. But Cane appears to have maintained unresolved confidence issues where his wife is concerned. While he has subsequently endorsed Lily’s return to the game, Cane’s openly evidenced Billy irritability syndrome underscores the need for personal growth.

Billy wants to be involved with his children and if possible, Vickie (Amelia Heinle). Whether he’ll ever be able to reestablish trust with his multi-time wife is unknown, but that lady surely still holds his heart.

So Cane’s belief that Billy was stomping on the sanctity of ‘Lane’s’ trust is likely misguided. It’s also a cause for reflection and more open communication with Lily as she steps back in front of the camera full-time.
