The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Brash and Sassy Sabotaged in Hollywood – Cane Destroys Billy, And Hockey Deal

Cane (Daniel Goddard) slew-footed Billy (Jason Thompson) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. For those who don’t follow hockey, that dirty act has one player knocking an opponent’s skates out from under him from behind. A high-tech version of the in-rink crime took place in Hollywood this week, as Cane’s plan to embarrass Billy resulted in the Professional Hockey League (PHL) severing ties with Brash and Sassy.

So Cane instructed the videographer for the Dare shoot to follow Billy’s every move behind the scenes. A bribe was given and collected footage was cleverly spliced to make it look like Billy’s comments to the players about gambling on the hockey finals were genuine. Professional athletes are forbidden from gambling on their own sports, or teams in order to avoid the appearance, or reality of throwing a game, or series.

Mr. Ashby’s intent was to have Vickie view the footage, but not for the concocted digital collection to be given to the PHL for review, or for the public ever lay eyes on it. The look on Cane’s face confirmed that his plan went horribly awry.

Vickie (Amelia Heinle) was naturally upset at what transpired and then her smartphone rang. A Governor from the hockey league exploded in rage. The PHL was furious about the footage that was shown during the ‘Hilary Hour’ (Mishael Morgan) and immediately canceled the promotional deal it had with Brash and Sassy. The ex-Mrs. Abbott then let Billy have it.

Playing off Billy’s reputation as a bungler was a shrewd strategy in Cane’s mind. However, events proved to be unmanageable and now Brash and Sassy reputation has been badly damaged. All parties involved will suffer professionally as a result.

The fallout from this incident will resonate. Whether Cane can retain his cover is questionable. And his wife’s (Lily, Christel Khalil) efforts, among others are now trashed.

Kudos to Goddard for continuing to devolve his character from likeable to loathed. Smart scripts are enabling a different level of his talent to score.
