Nick (Joshua Morrow) learns that there probably weren’t any survivors after an internal collapse. Reed assures Nick that none of the teens started the fire. Nick can’t figure out what happened, but a firefighter eventually provides some info. He notes that the blaze likely broke out at the bar.
Billy stirs in the rubble and calls out for someone to help him. A firefighter appears and promises to return with backup. Meanwhile, Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) shares the news of the fire with Jack (Peter Bergman). She explains the situation over the phone and Jack rushes right over.

Jack arrives and makes a scene about getting to Billy. He’s allowed in at his own risk. Jack goes to Billy’s side and they take a moment to reconnect. Billy wants Jack to watch over his kids if he doesn’t survive this. Jack makes that promise, but encourages Billy to stay positive.
Talk turns to the sabotage. Billy admits that he found out he’s to blame. He apologizes for accusing Jack, who talks about John’s (Jerry Douglas) forgiving nature. Jack insists that Billy will always be his brother.
Victor (Eric Braeden) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) end up outside with Phyllis. While they wait, Victoria accepts Victor’s offer to buy Brash and Sassy. Victor also faces off with Nick briefly. He warns that his son won’t see a dime from him. Nick wouldn’t dream of asking Victor for help with the damage.
When Jack and Billy walk out of the building, everyone breathes a sigh of relief. Phyllis is glad Billy’s OK, but points out that she’s still mad. The fact that he almost died doesn’t change that. Victoria is grateful that Billy stepped up to save Reed. However, she quickly adds that Victor’s investigating team solved the face mask case. Victoria knows Billy’s responsible, so she’s firing him.
