‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Ashley Switches Places With Ravi – Romance Potential Still Exists

Ravi (Abhi Sinha) told Ashley (Eileen Davidson) that he won’t cross boundaries again on ‘The Young and the Restless’. That statement allowed him to basically switch places with his boss, who had just begun considering him as a romantic option. An unlikely source served to convince Miss Abbott that she shouldn’t limit herself moving forward.

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) noticed Ravi’s interest in Ashley. During the opera after-party at the Top of the Tower Mrs. Newman told the former Mrs. Newman that she shouldn’t rule out love. Nikki popped up aside of Ashley in one of the Y&R’s cool thought bubbles that began appearing after Mal Young took over as executive producer last year.

A few weeks ago Ashley’s gut reaction was to reject Ravi’s pitch. He argued that she had experience with many relationships through the years, but that each was with the same type of alpha male and that none of those pairings proved successful long-term. Ravi said that he was different than those guys and believed that Ashley wasn’t giving him a fair chance.

The addition of Sinha’s character has been pleasant. His self-deprecating personality naturally allows fans to root for him. Ravi’s tekkie take on the world has already enabled plenty of humorous opportunities as well. Solid soap surely mixes personal drama with light-hearted instances involving different types of fictional personas.

The potential for ‘Rashley’ or ‘Avi’, depending upon one’s personal belief in power structures, has hardly been dashed by Ravi’s latest comment. Unlike many past beau’s and husbands, Mr. Sinha is a kind-hearted soul. Ashley will now demonstrate if she’s strong enough to overcome social perceptions of age and her seeming self-imposed limits.

Both characters are single and have already clicked on a basic level. Yes, Ashley’s position as Ravi’s boss will likely complicate matters to a certain degree. But it’s reasonable for each person to explore the potential of a relationship. Y&R fans will soon learn if they’re each willing to take this risk.
