The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Ashley Pursues Love – Ravi Another Type B Personality

Ashley (Eileen Davidson) surprised herself by choosing Ravi (Abhi Sinha) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She’s often gone for the Type A personality type, but not this time. By overlooking the age issue and by combining logic and emotion Miss Abbott has given herself a chance at love.

Hardcore Y&R fans know that Ravi is a different version of an earlier Type B personality, namely Dr. Simon Neville (Michael E. Knight). That character was moving toward a full-blown relationship with Ashley until he was unfortunately written out in 2016. That was a shame, as Knight’s return to daytime was applauded by longtime soap fans who journeyed with Tad on ABC’s beloved ‘All My Children’ in days gone by.

However, the cast hole opened an opportunity for Sinha to be cast. Ravi Shapur has since shined since arriving in Genoa City earlier this year. He quickly evolved from geek to chic, as partially confirmed through the message t-shirt and suit coat ensembles.

Sinha’s addition to the cast has proven wise on multiple levels. First and foremost, this quirky, poor soul persona filled the hole that was left when Knight departed. Ravi’s tech savvy position within Jabot has also enabled a modern path to be laid, thereby opening various plot angles to be played.

Davidson’s character initially resisted Ravi’s charms. She was following the mind-set of most Y&R characters, which projected Ashley’s maturity as unable to mesh with Ravi. But Sinha’s character persisted.

‘Rashley’s’ summer jaunt to the Abbott cabin isn’t the type of thing Ashley has done recently. After the aforementioned temporary dalliance with Simon, one of Jabot’s occasionally dueling executives has turned a corner, albeit slowly. She offered the invitation to Ravi and suggested a stay-over.

In addition to romance, Y&R has established light-hearted, feel-good scenes between two very likable characters that fans can root for. All who’ve experienced a leap of faith in others and in themselves have embraced this solid storyline as it represents good soap.
