‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Abby Takes Newman Reigns – Victor Endorses Unlikely Heir

'The Young and the Restless' Spoilers: Abby Takes Newman Reigns - Victor Endorses Unlikely HeirVictor (Eric Braeden) threw his support behind Abby (Melissa Ordway) on ‘The Young and the Restless’. She told the founder and CEO of Newman Enterprises that she’s been preparing and is ready to handle a greater level of responsibility at the company. The ‘Moustache’ is serious about stepping back from his business commitments and has offered his most unlikely heir an opportunity to eventually take his seat in the executive suite.

People who are considered unattractive are often overlooked and underestimated.

In this instance, Abby was always considered to be a lightweight because she’s gorgeous and has often acted like an impulsive princess. But events within the last year-plus have positioned this character for growth.

Her siblings, Nick (Joshua Morrow), Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and Adam (Michael Muhney and Justin Hartley) fell in and out of Victor’s favor many times through the years. Each was given repeated chances to grab, or share the ring.

As devoted viewers recall, Abby didn’t sink Victor during her testimony at this trial nearly a year ago, as the aforementioned trio was perceived to have done. Victor valued his daughter’s loyalty and has been impressed with her work ethic ever since.

Abby was played as a self-centered air head by Hayley Erin and Marcy Rylan based upon the scripts they were provided. But the ‘Stabby’ storyline served as the vehicle which enabled Ordway’s Abby to grow. This scribe still doesn’t agree with her divorcing ‘Stitch’ (Sean Carrigan), but is open to whatever personal arc is planned next.

Possibly Sally Sussman, like her predecessor (Chuck Pratt, Jr.), believes that Ordway and Carrigan didn’t possess enough chemistry to survive long-term. Carrigan has appeared in far fewer scenes than he had when his character and Ordway’s was a couple. So he might have been bumped to lesser status, or is presently pursuing his comedy career to greater lengths than in the past.

It’s impressive that Abby survived all the turmoil that engulfed Newman Enterprises within the last year. That’s the mark of a resilient professional. And now that she’s told her father that the family business is her passion, Victor and Abby fans are rightly proud.
