Gloria (Judith Chapman) is a scoundrel on ‘The Young and the Restless’. It’s true that Jack (Peter Bergman) woke up in a Genoa City Athletic Club suite the other day with her. But his lack of recollection about various proceedings exists because nothing happened. Yes, Gloria set a trap for her hated ex-son-in-law!
Can any devoted Y&R fan honestly say that Gloria isn’t above lying? No, no one can do so and thus the rub begins. The idea that Gloria purely conceived of her on-air confession, under the cover of Clarissa, as a sole retaliatory step doesn’t drill deeply enough. The former Mrs. Abbott actually plotted her course while she and Jack were drinking at the Top of the Tower.
Recall the scene where both characters woke up. Jack had no recollection of what transpired and as viewers know, no scenes were shown then or thereafter. However, Gloria was the one who forcefully told her foe that they had a romantic encounter. Then both apparent former combatants shook hands and decided to never speak of the supposed incident again.

Longtime viewers know that Jack wrongfully stopped Gloria from receiving a portion of his father’s inheritance during the last decade. John (Jerry Douglas) truly carried for the woman he considered to be his wife and intended for her to be taken care of after his death. But Jack used the legal system to have their marriage(s) declared invalid. In so doing Gloria was left penniless.
Using GC Buzz’ studios was outrageously devious, yet likely effective. Able to have her identity masked, faced blurred and voice skewed, Gloria attacked Jack with temporary impunity.
Public pressure now is on Jack’s shoulders. The immediate effect will surely effect his deal with Fenmore’s, hurting both companies. Jill (Jess Walton) seems primed to benefit from Jack’s situation, as he might now be forced to sell his shares in her family’s company in order to stay afloat. And the only option he may have to save himself appears to be by publicly acknowledging that Gloria and he mutually consented to their time together, even though there’s no real proof that anything excessive actually happened.
