The Young and the Restless RUMOR: Jack and Phyllis Reunite – Billy Goes Back to Vickie

All that is old is new again on ‘The Young and the Restless’. No, Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) hasn’t forgiven Victor (Eric Braeden) for the millionth time. But Jack (Peter Bergman) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) will be primed to reunite after the former ‘Red’ has it out with Billy (Jason Thompson).

The end of ‘Philly’ has been coming for awhile. Subjectively speaking, that pairing also doesn’t seem to have been embraced by the fans. While a certain contingent seems to like that couple, more people than not appear to want Phyllis and Billy to split as soon as possible.

The fuel to burn ‘Philly’ to the ground was set when Billy twice opted to violate Phyllis’ trust. He’s used her Jabot issued computer on two separate occasions to ferret out Jack’s business plans. And ferret is a nice way of saying that Billy committed corporate espionage, while making it appear as though Phyllis was working from home.

Hades will open the instant Phyllis confirms that her perceived third soul mate has betrayed her. Keeping track of her true loves, first there was Danny (Michael Damian), then came Jack and now, his brother, Billy.

But Jack is with Nikki, right? For now, yes. But she already told her one-time husband and revived boyfriend that their reconnection would end if she ever learned that he was trying to kill her daughter’s company. Jack lied to Nikki’s face by insisting that wasn’t the case, when it was and will be again.

Jack’s realization that Billy has been stealing secrets will naturally cause another battle in this brotherly war. So in Jack’s mind he won’t be attacking Vickie (Amelia Heinle), but merely protecting Jabot against Billy’s threats. Nikki won’t see it that way, thus freeing Jack up.

Phyllis dumps Billy, who heads back to Vickie’s wanting arms. Jack needs someone and Phyllis will say okay. Gloria (played by the superb Judith Chapman) will be hurt, but that’s another story.
