The Young and the Restless RUMOR: Graham is Ashley’s Brother – Brent Davis Connection Made

Foreshadowing is often used on ‘The Young and the Restless’ as a way to tease, or inform the audience. That’s apparently why Brent Davis (Bert Kramer) has been referenced so often in recent months. It appears that Ashley’s (Eileen Davidson) biological father could also be Graham’s (Max Shippee) dad.

As tenured Y&R viewers know, decades ago Dina (Marla Adams) revealed that Brent was Ashley’s father, not John Abbott (Jerry Douglas). That emotionally charged plot line permanently altered this mother-daughter relationship and, until recently kept them from being of use to each other.

When considering the backstory referenced above, Dina’s write-in to the show earlier this year was intriguing. Savvy soap viewers are often thinking multiple moves ahead whenever an old story is revisited.

In this instance, Graham was introduced as Dina’s protege. He was portrayed as either a gold-digger a faux boyfriend, or both. But as time has moved forward that side character’s true concern for Dina has emerged. Plus, Madame Mergeron oddly agreed to adjust her will, which now leaves Graham the bulk of her estate.

Ashley, Jack (Peter Bergman) and to a lesser degree recurring character Traci (Beth Maitland), have been suspicious of Graham’s motives from the jump. They’ve questioned the mental capacity of their mother and even agreed to incorporate her into Jabot in order to keep a closer eye on her.

It would make soapy sense if decade’s old bit player Brent is confirmed as Graham’s father in the near future. Whether that will make Graham a full or half sibling to Ashley isn’t known. While it would feel less plausible, Dina could simply be protective of Brent’s offspring.

Y&R fans can only imagine how Ashley would react to the latest family news. The Abbott brood already fights each other. So if Graham shares some or all of Ashley’s bloodline, tense days will be in the offing.

Graham would appear set up to become the Abbott’s version of Adam (as played most recently by Justin Hartley). And that wouldn’t be good.
