J.T. Hellstrom (Thad Luckinbill) returned this week on ‘The Young and the Restless’. The character Luckinbill first embodied in 1999 remained on Y&R through 2010. So, what impact will J.T. make in Genoa City?
Vickie (Amelia Heinle) is the first and obvious target. J.T. was married when he moved to Washington D.C. Unless he and Mackenzie (then played by Clementine Ford) have separated, or divorced, it’s possible that she’ll be following him home. If not, then J.T. is a free agent who will likely be a subject of interest among many ladies in GC.

Newer viewers may not be familiar with ‘Mack’s’ G.C. Lineage. Her father was Brock (played by the late Beau Kazer) and her grandmother was Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper).
J.T. won full custody of Reed (who was then played by Max Page) prior to leaving town. Reed was named to honor Nikki’s (Melody Thomas Scott) maiden name. The legal issue referenced was actually a response to Victor’s horrid treatment of Colleen (Tammin Sursok), who J.T. loved.
Vickie and J.T. obviously didn’t have an amicable parting, but have since learned to co-parent. Y&R fans recall that Reed (as now played by Tristan Lake Leabu) ran away from home because his father was moving his business to Poland. Reed arrived at his mom’s house on New Year’s Eve 2016.
Clearly, J.T. and Vickie will be placed together in various scenes. A reignited romance, at some point, is certainly possible.
The two iconic names referenced above, Victor (Eric Braeden) and Katherine, also hint at J.T.’s storyline that is about to come. The ‘Moustache’ has just been unmasked as the dark force behind ‘developing’ Chancellor Park. Therefore, it makes sense to project that J.T. will join with Nick to thwart Victor’s plan to change GC’s landscape which has honored Katherine since her passing.

Vickie just returned to Newman Enterprises and is fully on board with her father’s plan to re-imagine the green space at the center of town. That setup would seem to place J.T. at odds with his ex-wife, if the aforementioned conflict plays out as suspected.
