Greg Rikaart’s (Kevin) unexpected return to the cast of ‘The Young and the Restless’ naturally led some viewers to wonder if Chloe (most recently played by Elizabeth Hendrickson) would follow? The stage has been set for her return, though a major life issue would have to be addressed if this happens.
Death. That’s the major life issue facing the possible return of the Chloe character. As Y&R viewers recall, Hendrickson famously pushed open her coffin, thus confirming that Chloe hadn’t died earlier this year. Kevin fainted, recovered and eventually helped her to escape to Portland, Oregon, where she apparently is still living.

Kevin’s return was ordered by Victor (Eric Braeden). He being the man who allowed ‘Khloe’ to escape from Genoa City after taking pity on Bella (Gia Poeme). The ‘Black Knight’s’ involvement happened because he initially had Chloe released from a mental health facility, when she shouldn’t have been. That act eventually led to her seemingly killing Adam in an explosion she caused at a cabin on the outskirts of town.
The task Kevin faces in his return home is doubly tough. He’s been tasked by the ‘Moustache’ to access Nick’s (Joshua Morrow) financial accounts and transfer $500 million from them to Victor’s overstuffed coffer. Yes, that means Victor wants Kevin to steal the exact amount Nick was awarded, along with Vickie (Amelia Heinle) and Abby (Melissa Ordway) a number of years ago, as part of a vengeful punishment scheme.

The second tightrope walk Kevin is making involves remaining in character. He must play the grieving spouse at all times. How Bella won’t let it slip that her mother is alive is another soapy question to be asked on another digital day. One would think that Esther (Kate Linder) has already heard that story.
But why would Chloe need to return? Y&R’s writing staff could easily create the need for Adam’s (Justin Hartley) apparent assailant’s resurrection by having Kevin face some type of life-threatening situation, or even death, be it real, or concocted.
