There’s sad news for, “The Young and The Restless,” fans, it’s just been reported that Amelia Heinle (Victoria Newman) and Thad Luckinbill (ex J.D. Hellstrom) are set to divorce after ten years of marriage. The couple met while working together on the number one rated CBS soap, and married in 2007.
According to TooFab, Luckinbill cited irreconcilable differences when he filed divorce papers today in Los Angeles Superior Court. The couple have two children, Thaddeus, 10, and Georgia, 8.
Luckinbill’s paperwork indicates that he is seeking joint custody of the children and asking that the court “reserve for future determination the issue of spousal support.”

Prior to their marriage, Heinle was married to Michael Wetherly. The two met while working together on the now defunct ABC soap, “Loving.” Heinle and the, “NCIS,” star have one son, August.
Heinle has starred as Victoria Newman since 2005 and has earned two Emmy’s in the role. Luckinbill is an executive producer of the now infamous movie, “La La Land.”
Ironically, the actors’ alter egos parted ways onscreen as well, and while Heinle continues in her role as a powerful business executive, Hellstrom has not been seen in Genoa City for years. Prior to their onscreen split, the couple had a child, Reed.
Y&R viewers know that it’s only been a matter of weeks since Reed, who was living in Europe with his father, returned to town all grown up.
The teenager’s arrival has aged his beautiful and plucky mother about 1,000 years: he’s stolen her credit card to join an online porn club, plays his guitar too loud, and was caught making out with a girl on the family couch.
The boy’s return had fans flocking to social media to speculate as to whether or not an appearance by Hellstrom was next in the works.
Their divorce now casts doubt on any chance of a Heinle-Hellstrom reunion onscreen. But that doesn’t eliminate the possibility of a new actor taking on the role of Reed’s father.
