‘The Young and Restless’ POLL: Would You Like To See Dylan McAvoy Recast? VOTE!

We recently said goodbye to Steve Burton as Dylan McAvoy on “The Young and the Restless” now fans are wondering if the character will be recasted. Do you think someone else could play the part?

We have all got to know and love Steve Burton as Dylan McAvoy over the years. He played the part of a great family man so well. It’s always hard to get use to someone new coming in and taking over a part that we have all got so comfortable with, but do you think that we need someone else to takeover the role of Dylan McAvoy?

It was Steve Burton’s decision to leave Y&R as you all know. We respect his decision and still hold on to hope that maybe one day he will decide to come back and play the part, but that is no guarantee. So now we have to start thinking outside the box of whether we want someone else to play his part or for the show to move on without the character.

Y&R’s Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) is really struggling with the fact that her husband just had to up and leave to go into witness protection. It leaves us fans wondering if she will have another melt down and we certainly do not want that. It would be great if the writers took her character in a more positive direction.

So with Dylan McAvoy returning from witness protection that would definitely help Sharon. He was always her rock and kept her grounded. It was also great to see the relationship he had with his parents Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). They were just getting to know him well and bam he’s gone.

Do you think the part of Dylan McAvoy will be missed and we need his character on the show or would you be okay with the storyline going on just as it is? Would someone else be able to fill the shoes of Steve Burton’s? It’s time to take a vote and see what all of you Y&R viewers think.
