The Bold and the Beautiful Linsey Godfrey Shares Heartbreaking News With Her Fans

The Bold and the Beautiful’s Linsey Godfrey is opening up about her own harrowing experience with sexual abuse and harassment. The brunette beauty says that all of the allegations made against movie producer Harvey Weinstein has given her great anxiety, as she too suffered from abuse during her early teen years.

Linsey took to her Instagram account to share her story with her fans. Many women on social media have been sharing their accounts of sexual assault and harassment thanks to a viral #MeToo hashtag started by actress Alyssa Milano.

Linsey told her fans, “I started to realize why these stories coming to light hit me so hard. Its [sic] something I’ve never really said out loud before. I am a sexual abuse survivor.”

She also went into detail about her story and admitted to having an anxiety attack in her doctor’s office after hearing about all of Harvey Weinstein’s victims. She said that her stepfather molested her from the age of 7 until she was 14 years old. Linsey said, “I want us to change the world. Just know it was never our dirty little secret, it was theirs. We had something done to us. We are survivors! Your #metoo stories have moved me profoundly. We are stronger together. I thank you all for your support with mine. I love you all!”

Linsey added that one of the reasons why she’s never said anything about this before is because she didn’t want to ruin any lives, including her mother’s. Linsey admitted that she also suffers from Generalized Anxiety Disorder because of her stepfather’s abuse. She encouraged her fans to not remain silent and speak out against their attacker.
