Things are finally going Katie’s (Heather Tom) way on, “The Bold and the Beautiful.” She’s received a huge alimony payout from her ex-husband Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) and people finally believe that she didn’t try to kill her neighbor with a telescope and a high-powered rifle!

Being the youngest Logan girl, bookish Katie has suffered in the shadow of her sisters, particularly the spectacular Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) who is now married to Bill. Ouch.

Anyway, Katie eventually forgave her golden sis, and moved on by trying to ingratiate herself with Brook’s ex, Eric (John McCook). That didn’t go too well, since Eric only had eyes for his stunning wife Quinn (Rena Sofer).

So, in typical Katie fashion, she tried to fix her life but only managed to make it worse. Remember when she tried to fix her life by begging her then-love Ridge to forget her and get together with Brooke, then blew a gasket when they actually hooked up? Right.

This time around Katie tried to fix her life by blackmailing Quinn into giving her a job as a jewelry designer, but blew a gasket when Eric said she wasn’t good enough and fired her. Now Katie is enjoying the attention as she works under the tutelage of handsome Wyatt (Darin Brooks). What could go wrong?

For starters, he’s Quinn’s son! But Katie has taken to her new marketing role like a fish to water, and Tom is keeping the faith that her alter ego will finally get it right. In a recent interview with Soaps in Depth, the talented actress shared some insights into how she perceives the put-upon Katie.

“I like playing underdogs,” she said, “I think we can all relate to her.” And the actress wasn’t at all upset that Katie failed at her latest attempt to grow as a person. “I like characters that are flawed,” noted the soap veteran, “people who have to fight for something but don’t always win.” And that sounds like the perfect description of loveable survivor and fighter Katie Logan!
