Soap Opera Weekly Ratings October 23 To 27: GH Jumps over 200,000 in Total Viewership - Both CBS Soaps Tumble

The soap opera ratings have been reported by Soap Opera Network for the week of Monday, October 23 to Friday, October 27, 2017. There were no significant interruptions or breaking news that interfered with the viewing of any of the daytime soap operas that would have impacted the numbers for this week. Although last week, Y&R dominated the ratings, it was the only soap opera that went down in total viewership compared to the previous week.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES

NBC’s DOOL is definitely on the rise when it gained 156,000 from last week sitting at 2,298,000 in total viewers; although there wasn’t a huge leap among women 18-49, the NBC daytime drama gained 4,000, resting with 367,000 women viewers aged 18-49. Could the rise in views be because Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney), a long-time fan favorite is back in Salem and hasn’t changed a bit? Bonnie (Judi Evans) has finally been outed , while Adrienne’s loved ones work to bring her home. Eric (Greg Vaughan) and Brady (Eric Martsolf) coming face to face, could have also drawn in many fans who are frustrated with the reasoning behind Nicole (Arianne Zucker) leaving Salem for good. Things in Salem are surely looking up!

GENERAL HOSPITAL

ABC’s GH has blown all other daytime dramas away this week when it comes to total viewership; compared to last week, General Hospital rose 219,000, leaving the ABC soap opera with 2,750,000 total viewers. GH was also the only other soap opera to gain viewers among women aged 18-49; rising 31,000 from the previous week. This week, Jason (Billy Miller) and Sam (Kelly Monaco) purchased Derek Wells Media and throw a celebration at the Metro Court, that was cut short by gunmen. Patient Six (Steve Burton) makes an epic entrance, in an attempt to save his lady love; while Jason attends to a wounded Liz (Rebecca Herbst). Michael (Chad Duell) ends things with Nelle (Chloe Lanier) after catching her in a lie once again. It’s no wonder General Hospital dominated the ratings this week!

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

CBS’ B&B gained 32,000 in total viewership this week, settling at 3,562,000 in total viewers; but it back peddled among women 18-49, losing 25,000 viewers. Maybe the fact that Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) keep insisting that she will be Eric’s (John McCook) wife again has been overplayed, or the fact that she thought she could use the hired help to seduce Quinn (Rena Sofer). Fans of the CBS soap opera watched as Bill (Don Diamont) played his son Liam (Scott Clifton) for a fool, promising him the world as he pulled the rug out from him. It will be interesting to see how it all plays out and where everyone’s loyalties lie when the dust settles because Liam cannot be happy that his wife, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) had been so pushy when it came to reconnecting with his father, mostly because she didn’t like how close he had become to Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope).

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

CBS’ Y&R took a tumble in both total viewership (-23,000) and women 18-49 viewers (-22,000) compared to the previous week. Could it be that Lily (Christel Khalil) discovered that Cane (Daniel Goddard) had Juliet (Laur Allen) move in with him at the Chancellor mansion that bothered fans? Scott (Daniel Hall) and Sharon’s (Sharon Case) investigation of Zack (Ryan Ashton); puts Scott in a very precarious position when Zack drugs him and leaves him with a dead body. Jack (Peter Bergman) and Ashley (Eileen Davidson) chase Dina (Marla Adams) across the country as Brash & Sassy struggle with who tainted their face masks!!

How do you feel about all the storylines that happened this week and how would you rate all the daytime soap opera? Please let us know what you think!
