Soap Opera Ratings Week of September 4-8: Every Daytime Drama On The Rise – Young And Restless Reigning Champ This Week!

The soap opera ratings for the week of September 4 through September 8, 2017 have been reported by Soap Opera Network. Fans of the daytime dramas need to remember there were pre-emptions because of the very destructive Hurricane Irma and PGA Golf; let’s not forget that Monday, September 4, 2017 was also Labor Day! All in all, it was an impressive week for all four soap operas, gaining fans with both total viewership and women between the ages 18 and 49.

DAYS OF OUR LIVES

NBC’s Days of Our Lives (DOOL) currently sits with 2,199,000 in total viewship, up 22,000 from the previous week and gained 28,000 viewers among women 18-49; in spite of Monday, September 4th being pre-empted due to golf. It was the beginning of the end for Hattie Adams (Deirdre Hall) pretending to be the good Dr. Marlena Evans. Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker) and Eric Brady (Greg Vaughan) also shared a close moment, giving fans of the former couple hope of a reconciliation. Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) have reunited and several celebrate in their upcoming nuptials!

GENERAL HOSPITAL

ABC’s General Hospital (GH) rose with an impressive 79,000 total viewers to 2,462,000 and 25,000 in viewers that are women between the ages of 18-49. The soap opera was also pre-empted on Monday, due to it being a national holiday. The week began with sadness, as Finn (Michael Easton) received word from Hayden Barnes (Rebecca Budig) who shares in a letter that she lost their baby and plans on vanishing. Kiki Jerome (Hayley Erin) gets the opportunity of a lifetime when Dr. Bensch (James DePaiva) offers to be her mentor. After Griffin Munro (Matt Cohen) spurns Ava Jerome (Maura West), she acts out.

THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL

CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful (B&B) is in third place when it came to total viewership with a total of 3,491,000, up 60,000 from the previous week; also rising 18,000 among women aged 18-49. It was an interesting week, as Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) continues with her schemes to become Mrs. Eric Forrester again; she forces Charlie Webber (Dick Christie) to lock Quinn (Rena Sofer) and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) in an elevator in hopes to rekindle their passion. Rick (Jacob Young) and Maya Forrester (Karla Mosley) suggest Zende (Rome Flynn) and Nicole Forrester (Reign Edwards) move to Paris using work as a guise to hide Maya’s ulterior motive – insecurity about Nicole’s close bond with baby, Lizzie. CJ Garrison (Mick Cain) also makes a decision about the Spectra Fashion House, which broke many people’s hearts.

THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS

CBS’ The Young and the Restless (Y&R) is the reigning champ when it came to total viewership, sitting at 4,410,000 total viewers and up by an impressive 43,000 among female fans between the ages of 18 and 49. Sharon McAvoy (Sharon Case) continues to play detective with Scott Grainger (Daniel Hall), and it begins to pay off as she is right about Alice Johnson (Tamara Clatterbuck); Sharon works with Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) to trap Alice. The truth is starting to emerge about Crystal’s (Morgan Obenreder) connection to Zack (Ryan Ashton). Some fans are thrilled to see Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) and Phyllis Summers (Gina Tognoni) fighting and that he shared a spontaneous kiss with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle); but it remains to be seen where these two will end up.
