The Soap Opera ratings for the week of September 25 through September 29, 2017 have been reported by Soap Opera Network. There were no pre-emptions noted this week, but there were significant drops in total viewership in both CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful and The Young and the Restless, as well as and ABC’s General Hospital. NBC’s Days of Our Lives is the only daytime drama that rose in total views this week.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES
NBC’s DOOL gained 13,000 in total viewers compared to its previous week and rose 9,000 viewers in women 18-49. Reviewing that week, Sonny (Freddie Smith) and his fiancé, Paul Narita (Christopher Sean) have an emotional conversation about Will Horton (Chandler Massey) while they all have their respective Bachelor parties. Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus) struggles with her “best friend” marrying the man she loves while a mysterious mental patient troubles both the bridal parties. Times are changing for DOOL, as excitement continues to build with the epic returns of Alison Sweeney as Sami Brady and her presumed dead son, Will!
GENERAL HOSPITAL
ABC’s GH lost the least amount of total viewers falling -15,000, totally 2,523,000 compared to last week. GH tied with CBS’ soap opera B&B with a gain or 17,000 among women viewers between 18 and 49 years old. A lot of drama happened over Michael’s (Chad Duell) commitment to Nelle (Chloe Lanier), as his mother, Carly (Laura Wright) and grandmother, Bobbie (Jacklyn Zemen) continue to cause obstacles for them. Franco (Roger Howarth) struggles with his past and who he can confide it. It remains to be seen how Franco will deal with the revelation of Jason and his twin brother, Drew!
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
CBS’ B&B lost the most in total viewership, with -90,000 gone leaving their total viewers at 3,487,000 but they were up 17,000 among women aged 18-49. Could it be the battle between Liam (Scott Clifton) and his father, Bill Spencer (Don Diaomont) that dominated this week be the reason behind the drop or the fact that former lovers- turned in-laws, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Bill align with each other, attempting to push Liam to do their bidding?
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
CBS’ Y&R took a significant tumble when it came to total viewership, down 78,000 compared to the previous week and was the only one who lost viewers (-5,000) among women 18-49. Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) returned to Genoa City, Mariah (Camryn Grimes confides in him that she is attracted to someone that isn’t Devon (Bryton James). Ravi (Abhi Sinha) continues to work with the Abbotts to expose Graham (Max Shippee) and his connection to their mother, Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams). Is there any hope left for Cane (Daniel Goodard) and his estranged wife, Lily (Christel Khalil)?
