The Soap Opera ratings for the week of October 2 through October 6, 2017 have been reported by Soap Opera Network. There were no pre-emptions or breaking news to interrupt any of the daytime soap operas for this week; but all soap operas dropped down with women viewers between the ages of 18-49 and CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful was the only one to gain in total viewership.
DAYS OF OUR LIVES
NBC’s DOOL sits at 2,088,000 total viewers, dropping 12,000 from the previous week. Although all 4 soaps have lost viewers in women 18-49, DOOL dropped the least with -14,000, leaving their count at 321,000. This was the week that Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) returned, halting another Salem wedding, with the news that Will Horton (Chandler Massey) is alive. Brady (Eric Martsolf) has fallen off the wagon, and who can blame him as he continues to suspect that Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and his brother, Eric (Greg Vaughan) have reunited behind his back?
GENERAL HOSPITAL
ABC’s GH went down by 18,000 in total viewership, leaving them with 2,505,000; it was also hit hard among women 18-49, losing 33,000 from the previous week. It seems to be a never-ending circle with Michael (Chad Duell) uncovering lie after lie from Nelle (Chloe Lanier). Finn (Michael Easton) struggles with his emotions as he continues to do Anna’s (Finola Hughes) bidding when it comes to Cassandra (Jessica Tuck) and her connection to Valentin (James Patrick Stuart). GH fans are excited to see Patient 6 (Steve Burton) fighting to return to Port Charles as his story continues to unfold, as to who he really is and who is the man (Billy Miller) living his life?
THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL
CBS’ B&B gained 21,000 in total viewership compared to the previous week but it plummeted, losing 35,000 viewers among women 18-49. Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) continues to manipulate Eric (John McCook) and Quinn’s (Rena Sofer) marriage, when she hired new estate manager Mateo (Francisco Sen Martin) to seduce Quinn. Liam (Scott Clifton) continues to make drastic changes, destroying his father and possibly his marriage in the process, as Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) is not pleased with his actions, especially where Sally (Courtney Hope) is concerned!
THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS
CBS’ Y&R drastically falters when it comes to total viewership, losing 173,000 viewers from the previous week and 19,000 among women 18-49. Nick (Joshua Morrow) is obsessed with revenge, which is wreaking havoc on his relationship with Chelsea (Melissa Claire Egan). Billy (Jason Thompson) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) are secretly working together, causing tension once again between him and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni). The sex trafficking story seems to be unfolding, and will be interesting to see how Abby (Melissa Ordway) copes with the revelation that Zack (Ryan Ashton) is by far the worst man she has ever been involved with.
