Samuel Johnson Admits His First Real Kiss Was on Home and Away

Many teens that are coming of age usually experience their first kiss at a movie theater, a party with friends or behind the bleachers at a school event. But for ‘Home and Away’ actor Samuel Johnson, it happened in front of the cameras for the entire world to see. The soap drama actor recently admitted that his first kiss was during a scene he taped for the show while he was just 14.

Samuel says that while it was a nerve-wracking scene for him to shoot, it was also part of his job. The scene was filmed back in 1995, when he played Kate Richie’s up-to-no-good boyfriend, Gus Bishop.

It might have been a fake relationship but according to Samuel, the kiss was completely real. Luckily, viewers didn’t catch on to Samuel’s inexperience in the kissing department.

He also opened up about Kate’s charity work and her willingness to always help others in need.

Speaking about the scene during a special Facebook Live chat with his fans, the handsome soap drama actor said, “Kate Richie was my first kiss. Not my first screen kiss. My first real, actual kiss. And it was on-screen!”

Samuel added, “What started as a very awkward kiss 20 years ago has blossomed into a beautiful heart, made of her finger prints, in support of cancer research. What a champ. Thanks for putting a beautiful ending on my awkward tale of woe Kate!”

So far Kate herself hasn’t made any comments about Samuel’s firs on-screen kiss. But considering how close the two actors still are, there’s a good chance that it wasn’t too awkward after all!
