Nigel Havers Teases Return to Coronation Street

Nigel Havers isn’t done with Coronation Street just yet. In fact, the British soap star says that he is desperate to return to the show as conman Lewis Archer. If he does return, this will be his third stint on the show.

Nigel opened up about his hopeful plans during an appearance on British talk show Loose Women. He left the show back in 2013 after Lewis stole money from Gail Platt. He ended up fleeing to Belize. Prior to that, he first joined the show in 2009. That year viewers saw him cheat on Audrey Roberts and scam Peter Barlow.

Nigel said, “I’d love to go back. Never say never. I do feel responsible for £40,000, so I feel like I should give it back one way or another. They’re so clever in Corrie, they’ll come up with a plot and it’ll be brilliant. I was so happy [joining Corrie]. I’d been a fan of Corrie since it started, so I was delighted.”

If Nigel does return, he would like to first see Lewis turn his wrongs into rights.  He explained, “I would love to, actually. I do owe Gail 40 grand at the moment and I think as an honorable man, I’d like to pay that back.”
