Neighbours Spoilers: Flashbacks Reveal New Hamish Murder Clues

Neighbours spoilers tease that the soap is set to air several special flashback scenes next week, allowing viewers to see what Gary Canning was really doing on the night of Hamish Roche’s death.

Gary (Damien Richardson) is one of the seven major suspects in the murder investigation that has shaken Ramsey Street. Beginning last week when Hamish was found dead in the Canning’s hot tub, Neighbours has been dropping some major clues (or red flags?) as to who could have been involved in his death.

Viewers watched for weeks as Hamish emotionally manipulated Gary’s mother Sheila, making her fall in love with him. When she found out that he had been two-timing her with Louise McLeod, she saw red. Viewers witnessed Gary quickly leaving the fireworks gala on the night of the murder – was he protecting his mother and making sure Hamish never bothered her again?

So far, we know that Gary does not have an alibi for that night, with his mother saying they ‘stayed at the hotel’. When he approached Paul in hopes that he would verify this false alibi, fans became suspicious. As did Mishti Sharma, who in her own investigation has realised the alibi is bogus.

Growing tired of Mishti’s interrogations Gary speaks to the police, admitting that he tampered with evidence at the scene after finding Hamish dead. At that point, he believed that his mother must have been the killer – the location coupled with how Hamish had treated her definitely led Gary to believe so. However, now knowing that Sheila is innocent, Gary decides to come clean to the police about his whereabouts that night.

With some specially filmed flashback scenes, the viewers will be shown Gary’s point of view on the night of the crime. These scenes will hopefully fill in some gaps and questions viewers have, putting them in the picture for the first time.

Of course, as with all police investigations, the main question is whether Gary is truly being honest about his actions. Do the flashback scenes rule Gary out of the running, or did he have other reasons for interfering with evidence?
