Lyn (Janet Andrewartha) initially hit our screens with a bang in 1999, leaving in 2006 but returning for a while between 2009 and 2011. The first new family to be introduced since 1996, the Scully’s were one of the iconic Neighbours families throughout the noughties.
Lyn was at the centre of many storylines, the most memorable of which was probably her marriage to loveable villain Paul Robinson. With her daughter Steph (Carla Bonner) returning to Erinsborough in 2015, Lyn has returned to the street a few times recently, helping out with Steph’s son Charlie.

This time, Lyn returns to Erinsborough after Amy Williams (Zoe Cramond) is honest about who donated the huge lump of cash which saved the wellness centre project. After speculation among fans as Janet was seen returning to set, it is now confirmed that Lyn is the anonymous donor.
The wellness centre idea was first suggested by Nick Petrides and supported by Amy as a retreat and help centre for cancer patients. Having suffered cancer herself, Steph then got involved in this project as the motel she owned (after buying out Paul) would make the perfect venue. This wouldn’t come cheap however, and money was needed for the restoration, setting up and running of the centre.
After Hamish retracted his large donation and the centre gained some bad publicity after a drugs scandal, it seemed the centre would no longer be financially possible. Desperate for it to go ahead, so desperate in fact that she considered cleaning in her lingerie again, Amy sought contact with Lyn regarding a donation.
Despite keeping quiet about the donor for a short while, Amy will finally admit to Steph that the money was given by her mother Lyn, who wants to be an official investor in the centre.

When Lyn decides to visit the centre, Steph is enraged by the deals going on behind her back, especially considering the centre was intended to be a non-for-profit. Steph is further angered by the idea of having to take her mother’s business proposals on board, but the two reach a compromise when Lyn agrees to be a silent partner.
Long-time watchers will know that silence and Lyn Scully don’t go together, and things get worse when Lyn insists on meeting Jack, Steph’s boyfriend. Will Steph be able to stay calm with her mother back in town? Watch Neighbours on Wednesday November 15th to find out.
