Hollyoaks Shocker: Charlie Clapham's Explosive Exit - Freddie Roscoe On The RunHollyoaks Shocker: Charlie Clapham's Explosive Exit - Freddie Roscoe On The RunLoyal viewers were left in shock last week when it was revealed that “Hollyoaks,” bad boy Freddie Roscoe (Charlie Clapham) will soon exit the show. Dramatic spoilers expose that Freddie leaves in an intensely passionate manner, one that fans can’t miss!

Fans learned of Clapham’s departure in a message broadcast in the show’s credits. The handsome fan favorite starred on the effervescent, youth-oriented soap for four years. During that time the scoundrel stole money, committed murder, and had affairs with a mother and her daughter. Wow, maybe it is time to leave town, Freddie! Freddie feels he has no choice but to go on the run since he could be looking at a prison sentence for brutally beating Nick Savage after criminal charges against the man were dropped.

Freddie acted out after learning that Savage won’t go to jail for raping Freddie’s girlfriend Ellie. The two lovers have a passionate and heartbreaking goodbye just before Freddie escapes Hollyoaks with his half-brother. In an interview with the Mirror, Clapham admitted that his departure from the show is bittersweet.

The actor is leaving by choice, and explained, “After four years I felt the time was right to hang up the leather jacket. It was an incredibly hard decision but I was excited to see how the … producers were going to have Freddie Roscoe sign out.”

Clapham was happy that his character was somewhat redeemed when he took justice in his own hands and attacked his girlfriend’s attacker. Clapham also recognized the viewers who hand a hand in his success: “I’ve always received a lot of support from the fans too during my time on the show – that is something I’ve never taken for granted and I consider myself very lucky to have felt that.”

The actor is on record as saying that playing Freddie was a dream role, and he’s hopeful that the cad may return someday since the character was not killed off.
