General Hospital RECAP Tuesday May 2: Chimera Mystery Foreshadows Disaster – Valentin Softens Up To Anna – Ava Catches Sonny And Martina

Tuesday’s episode of General Hospital begins with Valentin (James Patrick Stewart) and Anna (Finola Hughes) on the pier. Valentin hands Anna her Chimera necklace back. Anna mentions Chimera being the name of the last case they worked together on. She wishes they could go back to that night. She describes the night calling it magical. Valentin says until he found out the next morning she put a hit on him. Valentin calls that night an illusion. She regrets manipulating him for secrets. Biggest regret is losing him. Her necklace reminds her of the hearts she broke that night. Valentin and her own.

Valentin decides to drive Anna home because of her injured ankle. His car won’t start and he calls a cab. Anna is glad he didn’t turn the Chimera file over to DVX. He says she wasn’t the only one interested in it. He refuses to tell her who. The car arrives for Anna. Valentin tells Anna he’s going home and leaves.

Jason (Billy Miller) & Sam (Kelly Monaco) are at home and looking at the Chimera drawing in Jake’s (Hudson West) book from Helena. Jason feels he was supposed to find the Chimera. He can’t explain how he knew instantly what the Chimera was but feels something bad is going to happen. Jason wants to handle it now.

Carly (Laura West) is at Metro Court complaining about Lucy (Lynn Herring) not finalizing plans for the Nurses Ball. Joss (Eden McCoy) walks up and hands Carly a permission slip for a class trip. Joss is upset her Dad isn’t there to sign it. She has to fly to Australia to see him. Carly tells Joss she has to accept the situation. Joss goes to Carly’s office.

Sonny (Maurice Benard) arrives and tells Carly he’s there about Morgan’s (Bryan Craig) pill bottles. Sonny updates Carly about the bottle being found at the Floating Rib after the attempted robbery. Sonny had the pills analyzed at an independent lab. They were the correct pills; so it’s another dead end. Carly’s lawyer calls to tell her about meeting tomorrow to discuss division of assets.

Sonny tells Carly he doesn’t like lawyers and suggests they just agree to leave with what they brought to the marriage. Carly says she has everything of his and is keeping it all. Sonny reminds Carly he didn’t sleep with Nelle (Chloe Lanier) but she did with Jax. Carly says this makes it even for what he did to Jax. They start arguing and Joss returns. Joss tells Sonny to leave her Mom. She won’t forgive him for what he did to Jax. She says Morgan probably wouldn’t either. Sonny replies: “Guess not” and leaves.

Carly tells Joss the divorce has nothing to do with her. Carly suggests Joss go visit Jax. Joss wants Carly to go with her. Carly tells Joss she isn’t going to lean on Jax and she’s not taking Sonny back. Joss asks why she’s still wearing her wedding rings and leaves. Carly stares at her wedding rings.

Ava (Maura West) tells Scott (Kin Shriner) she took his advice about Morgan’s pill bottle and isn’t worried about it. The pills won’t come back to haunt her. She mentions Sonny and Carly divorcing. Ava feels it’s a good time to go after custody of Avery. Scott tells Ava that Sonny and Carly stick together when it comes to their kids. Ava reluctantly agrees. They leave to get drinks.

Franco (Roger Howarth) and Liz (Rebecca Herbst) are trying to figure out why Jake drew the Chimera. Liz gives Franco her approval to talk with Jake tomorrow and help solve this mystery. Jason calls Liz and asks if Jake ever mentioned the Chimera. Liz tells him to come over right now.

Jason and Sam arrive to Liz’s house. Jason shows Liz and Franco the Chimera in the book. Liz shows them the picture Jake drew. Franco says Jake has seen the Chimera before. Sam and Liz decide they need a break and will work more on it in the morning. Jason tells Franco that Jake has a connection with him and do the right thing. Jason and Sam leave. Franco tells Liz when a Chimera appears it a foreshadow of disaster.

Sam and Jason arrive home. Sam says whatever Helena did to Jake and Jason; it’s tied to the Chimera. Jason says he’s going to Greece to find answers on Cassadine Island.

Sonny arrives to the Haunted Star and orders a drink. Martina (Daya Vaidya) is sitting at the bar watching him. She says that’s why she’s never getting married. They start talking and toast to warm water and sand. Ava and Scott walk in. Ava wants to approach them but Scott says no. Scott leaves to get the car. Sonny tells her he has to leave. She thanks him for the drinks and walks toward the door. Sonny takes his wedding ring off and leaves with Martina.
