General Hospital Recap July 19: Valentin Arrested For Kidnapping – Obrecht Digs Up Dirt On Hayden – Finn Reinstated

Wednesday’s July 19 episode of General Hospital begins with Julian (William DeVry) asking Alexis (Nancy Lee Grahn) to be a witness in his trial for the defense. Alexis and Julian have a fake trial with her asking him the questions. Julian insists he was protecting his family and has Alexis read his letter to her again.

As Alexis approaches the end of the letter, Julian cites it word for word regarding his love for her. Alexis says she’ll be more of a liability than an asset to his case. Julian is willing to take that chance. Alexis gets a knock on the door. She’s been summoned to be a witness for the prosecution.

Finn (Michael Easton) tells Hayden (Rebecca Budig) the townhouse didn’t pass inspection but he found a better house for them. Griffin (Matt Cohen) walks up and needs Finn’s latest lab results. Monica interrupts to (Leslie Charleson) inform Finn he’s officially reinstated. Finn gets a text to report to the conference room.

Laura (Genie Francis) calls Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) to inform him of Spencer (Nicolas Bechtel) missing. Laura and Kevin (Jon Lindstrom) arrive to the PCPD. Laura tells Dante that Valentin kidnapped Spencer.

Nathan (Ryan Paevey) stops by to see Nina (Michelle Stafford). Nina tells him that Valentin (James Patrick Stuart) is doing all he can to win her back. Dr. Obrecht (Kathleen Gati) arrives and needs to speak with Nina alone. Nathan leaves. Dr. Obrecht would like to be a medical expert editor for Crimson.

Nina feels a medical journal would be more suited than her magazine. Nina sees the disappointment in Dr. Obrecht. Nina promises to have her assistant do a proper research and find a better fit for Dr. Obrecht. Nathan calls Nina to come to the PCPD.

Finn arrives to a surprise party in the conference room. Monica does the first toast. Hayden tells Liz how happy she is. Liz jokes she’s jealous and mentions Franco’s still in Manhattan. Griffin starts the second toast as Dr. Obrecht arrives and is listening outside the door. Griffin’s talking and Dr. O thinks this toast is for her. As she walks in Griffin says Finn’s name. Dr. Obrecht walks out and Hayden follows.

Hayden has Dr. O’s severance check. Hayden mentions the good qualities of Dr. Obrecht but also is aware of her criminal background and she has to go. Finn walks up and Dr. O says he deserves to lose everything. Hayden tells Dr. O to take the check and leave before she calls security. Finn and Hayden walk back in the room and Monica announces the party is over. Finn tells Hayden they can see the house after work.

Dr. Obrecht wants to seek revenge and types Finn’s name in the computer but admits she already dug up his spotless past. She decides to type in Hayden’s name next.

Valentin tells Charlotte (Scarlett Fernandez) that she won’t be seeing Spencer ever again. Valentin receives a text about possible child abduction. Laura and Kevin walk by and say hello. Dante walks in and tells Valentin he needs to question him at the PCPD. Charlotte sits with Laura and Kevin. Charlotte tells Laura she understands her being upset because of Spencer. Laura tells Charlotte they’ll let Papa know she went to Lulu’s house. Charlotte isn’t worried because he always comes back for her.

Nina arrives to PCPD and Nathan asks her questions about seeing Spencer the other night. Nina explains Spencer was determined to find a way to get Wyndemere back and would fly to see Valentin over seas.

Dante is questioning Valentin. Valentin is informed Laura says he kidnapped Spencer. Valentin admits telling Laura that Spencer is a bully and a precocious little jerk but he would never hurt a child. Dante mentions the lawsuit which Valentin calls baseless. Nina defends Valentin. Dante is reading a paper with Spencer’s handwriting on it. Valentin tries to explain. Nathan interrupts to tell Dante they have a witness seeing Spencer taken from the park and the descriptions matches Valentin. Dante tells Valentin he’s under arrest for the kidnapping of Spencer Cassadine.
